Remote Medical Customer Service

Job Summary

We are seeking a Remote Medical Customer Service professional who reside in Nevada for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting patient account services in a healthcare call center environment. This role is ideal for a customer-focused healthcare professional with revenue cycle experience, strong phone skills, and the ability to help patients with billing, insurance, payments, and account questions.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being part of a structured, team-oriented healthcare support environment. Key Responsibilities

- Handle 60 or more patient accounts daily, including inbound calls, callbacks, occasional outbound calls, and voicemail follow-up.
- Assist patients with billing questions, account balances, charges, payment plans, insurance updates, refunds, credit balances, and financial assistance screening.
- Review, update, and document patient account information accurately and thoroughly in the appropriate systems.
- Research coding, billing, and insurance-related errors and submit corrections when needed.
- Maintain first call resolution goals, an average 7-minute handle time, and expected production and quality standards.
- Follow all applicable policies and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and relevant state and federal collection laws.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $18.00 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Work arrangement: Remote, but candidates must live in Nevada to be considered.
- Candidates must provide their own equipment and must have hardwired internet. Wi-Fi is not permitted.
- Required remote setup includes dual monitors, webcam, wired headset, reliable internet, and a private workspace free from distractions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support patient account services in a healthcare call center environment.
- Manage high-volume patient billing, insurance, payment, and account inquiries.
- Document account activity accurately while meeting quality, productivity, and compliance standards.
- Research and help resolve billing, coding, insurance, and revenue cycle account issues.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant healthcare customer service, patient account, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience.
- Experience using EPIC or similar healthcare software.
- Strong understanding of patient billing, insurance updates, payment plans, refunds, credit balances, and account resolution processes.
- Ability to work remotely with a hardwired internet connection and required home office equipment.
- Excellent phone communication skills with the ability to remain professional, calm, and empathetic during patient interactions.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and ability to follow compliance requirements.
- Must live in Nevada to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in a healthcare call center or patient financial services environment.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and healthcare collection guidelines.
- Experience meeting call center metrics such as first call resolution, handle time, quality scores, and daily production goals.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying engaged with a structured team environment.
