About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Ability to manage insulin and heparin drips. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a cancellation. Travelers must be able to work holidays and may be assigned to care for COVID patients. Travelers will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team. Charge nurse role is required for night travelers. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Float requirement to similar units is expected. Travelers must work every other weekend. Working during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters is mandatory. Daily patient diagnoses will include adults and geriatrics. General medical/surgical patients will be cared for. Daily census is approximately 43 patients. Required skills include managing heparin drips, wound vacuum dressing changes, and high flow oxygen. No additional training is required for limited short-term BiPap with respiratory support. Patient care management includes IV teams, respiratory services, and other interdisciplinary support. Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October and on the 3rd Wednesday in November and December. Additional meetings will occur for night shift staff at 07:30 following the Wednesday meetings. Travelers and staff are expected to adhere to policies and behavioral expectations. All documents and tests must be completed timely before starting the assignment. Completing all required online modules is mandatory prior to and annually after the start of the contract.
