Production Supervisor

Job Details Job Location: Top Tier Ingredients LLC – Hancock, WI 54943 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Nights (5 pm to 5 am) Role Overview: Top Tier Ingredients located in Hancock, WI is hiring a Production Supervisor to manage a hardworking team producing high‑quality potato flakes and potato flour. Schedule & Compensation Duration: Fulltime Permanent Hours: 5pm to 5am (12‑hour night shifts) – Team C Workdays: 2-2-3 rotation, 35‑50 hours per week over 3‑4 days per week. Every other weekend you will have a three‑day weekend with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Wage: Salaried, based on experience Core Responsibilities (70%) Supervising and coordinating employees on shift to execute core operating processes, including GMPs, SOPs, SCM, SQF, and Lean Manufacturing processes, to ensure quality and safe ingredients are produced and that efficiencies and cost structures are optimized. Work with Quality Assurance Technicians to ensure product quality standards are met; minimize held product, and ensure proper disposition occurs when holding product is necessary. Ensure production for the shift is on schedule and within budget, and plan production for future shifts. Working with Maintenance Technicians and the Production Manager to understand machine setups, coordinate preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and optimize the performance of equipment and facilities. Coach and develop employees, correct deficiencies, and implement discipline procedures. Ensure team members are safely and efficiently packaging finished products according to quality, food safety, and customer specifications. This includes supervision of products being accurately weighed, properly sealed, labeled, and prepared for storage or shipment. General Operations Responsibilities (30%) Proven track record of achieving results through the growth and development of others. Working with the Production Manager to carefully plan the utilization of materials and other resources to minimize waste, properly utilize labor, and reduce line downtime. Work with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure proper FIFO of raw materials and WIP management. Understand the role of IFS to ensure proper allocation of materials to production runs. Follows all applicable SOPs for the area in which they are assigned. Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA and plant‑defined SOPs. Ensuring that lean practices are incorporated and continuously used to maximize efficiency. Ensuring that the work environment meets safety and health standards and that equipment is well maintained and functions reliably. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment, with 1-2 years of direct supervision experience. Works independently with little or no direct supervision at a high level. Demonstrated ability to collect data, analyze and draw facts, and make decisions based on those facts. Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other data collection systems. Valid driver’s license required; candidates must be eligible to pass a motor vehicle record review. Preferred Experience College degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred. Three years of experience working in food production is preferred. Experience in Quality Control in a food processing environment is preferred. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to regularly stand, walk, and communicate throughout each shift. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders, walk on catwalks, work on and around plant equipment, handle objects, maintain balance, and perform a variety of physical activities, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed to complete assigned job duties. Ability to work safely in areas of the facility that may involve exposure to hot temperatures, wet or humid conditions, high noise levels, vibration, elevated or confined spaces, strong odors, hazardous chemicals, and moving machinery. Requires effective near and far visual acuity, distinguish color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to shift and maintain visual focus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Requires the ability to clearly understand verbal and written communication from others. The facility is approximately less than 20 minutes from Bancroft, Coloma, or Plainfield; about 30 minutes from Adams, Almond, Necedah, Nekoosa, Wautoma, Westfield, or Wild Rose; and about 35‑40 minutes from Red Granite, Stevens Point, or Wisconsin Rapids.
