Project Manager The Project Manager is responsible for arranging the purchase of supplies and services on behalf of the University. This position requires the ability to negotiate, use analytical skills, work against fast deadlines and multitask calendars for project launches and budgets. Responsibilities Project management and logistics of projects Coordinate projects with suppliers, maintaining budget and other facility needs Bids project scope with appropriate vendors and contractors Verify purchase proposals and recommend execution of proposed alternates Work with faculty, staff and students to develop project scope Monitor the progress of individual project PO's relating to various facility renovations and ensure that projects are complete. Supply requested information and run requested reports as appropriate Maintain records on fixed asset expenditures Provide administrative support for projects and end of the month reports as requested Process project invoices and requisitions with appropriate account coding and approval Work with the business office to follow through and solve problems with accounting issues Attend project meetings as assigned with suppliers and internal clients Create project work scopes based on notes taken from project meetings Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings Screen incoming project correspondence and calls as requested Maintain binders for all projects plus additional files as needed Assist in graphic layouts for proposed projects Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in purchasing, construction, engineering or business preferred High School Diploma (GED) required Three years administrative experience in facility management preferred Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies (internal and external) Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type. Strong written and communication skills High degree of customer service orientation PC proficient; experience with Office 2007 preferred Advanced understanding of Word, Visio, Excel, and Power Point Other Requirements Experience with on-line purchase order systems preferred Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's insurance plan.
