Registered Nurse Med-Surg Neuro

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Med-Surg Neuro unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical-surgical and neurological conditions, including stroke, seizure disorders, post-operative neurosurgical patients, and complex comorbidities. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement evidence-based care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, patients, and families.

You will be responsible for managing a diverse patient load, prioritizing and coordinating care in a fast-paced acute care environment, and utilizing critical-thinking skills to identify changes in patient status and intervene promptly. Duties include maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adhering to safety and infection-prevention protocols, and participating in discharge planning and patient education to support continuity of care and optimal outcomes. You will regularly collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe transitions of care, participate in bedside shift reports, and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the patient experience.

We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing, comfort with neuro assessment and monitoring, proficiency in using electronic health records, and excellent communication and time-management skills. A current RN license and BLS certification are required, with ACLS and other specialty certifications strongly preferred or required within a designated period after hire.
