About the Role You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist is familiar with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment, follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, and provides centre‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS). How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing education meeting state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with applicable state or local minimum wage requirements.
