Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Neuro Trauma Telemetry unit position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care telemetry experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Located on the 10th floor of a hospital's Neuro Trauma unit (Unit 631)
• 36-bed unit with a total staff of 70, including RNs, Patient Care Techs, and a Unit Clerk on day shift
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• EMR system: Meditech/CPN (prior experience preferred)
• Common procedures include medication drips, bubble studies, and EEG
• Kangaroo Pumps used on the unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in KS or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital telemetry experience
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Prior Meditech experience is preferred
• Experience traveling to large trauma facilities is a plus
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong focus on patient care are valued traits for this unit
