HR Generalist Full Time Carmel, IN, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1016 Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually The HR Generalist will support the day-to-day HR operator function for several Weaver companies, including recruiting coordination, benefits administration support, onboarding/offboarding, backup payroll coordination, contract management, employee engagement initiatives and general office administrative duties. This role is central to keeping HR running smoothly day to day, partnering closely with the Head of Human Resources and leadership on strategic decisions. An operator mindset with a love for organization, detail and action will be necessary to succeed in this highly supportive and fast paced environment. Location: Carmel, IN (5 days in-office, split time between Weaver Fundraising and Weaver Popcorn Headquarters) HOW WILL YOU HELP US GROW? Support benefits administration with enrollment, ongoing benefits questions and coordinate open enrollment and ongoing administration. Support Full-cycle recruiting for specific open roles with Head of HR direction: posting requisitions, scheduling interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and supporting offer logistics. Own onboarding and offboarding administration, including new hire paperwork, systems setup coordination, background check process, exit process, and organize payroll updates. Process and support payroll coordination for both hourly/salaried employees and 1099 contractors, partnering with Finance and the HRIS/payroll provider on routine processing. Own HRIS system changes, coding updates, and payroll tax setup for various state and local tax codes. Follow software product changes, and proactively flag change considerations to HR leadership. Assist with HR reporting, headcount tracking, and ad hoc projects supporting the broader HR function. Maintain accurate personnel files and HR system data with a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality. Support HR leadership with compliance administration, including tracking key filing deadlines for 5500, I-9 documentation, and required postings. Assist with safety compliance, training, and OSHA tracking/reporting (as needed with support from our Safety Manager). Perform office administrative duties as needed, such as ordering/stocking office supplies and managing office maintenance tickets with the office building portal. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO HAVE? Bachelor's degree with a focus in HR, Communications, Administrative or likeminded arena. 3+ years of professional experience in an HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR specialist role. PHR or SHRM CP certification is preferred. Experience with the benefits admin function and preparing open-enrollment census data for benefits. Experience with full-cycle internal recruiting (manufacturing, sales, product & engineering technology, or finance hiring background is helpful but not required). Working knowledge of payroll processes, benefits administration, and core HR compliance requirements (I-9, wage & hour basics, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA). Technically comfortable with HRIS/ATS software platforms (ADP and Paylocity experience preferred). Experience supporting both W-2 employees (Salaried and Hourly) and 1099 contractors is preferred. Experience supporting HR audits related to work comp, 401k and payroll. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new HR software, systems, and skills quickly, including practical use of AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and similar platforms to improve efficiency and work quality. Excellent attention to detail and discretion handling confidential employee information. Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines. Clear, professional written and verbal communication; this role interacts with employees at every level. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE? Recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding run smoothly with minimal escalations needed. Nothing falls through the cracks on compliance deadlines or documentation. Leadership trusts that anything genuinely sensitive gets flagged early, not discovered late. Leadership experiences HR as responsive, action oriented, consistent, and flexible to work with. WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT This is a generalist tactical operator role, not a strategic HR leadership position. Comp decisions, termination decisions, policy exceptions, budgeting, and anything with legal exposure are owned by company leadership. This role's job is to flag those strategic or compliance matters promptly and execute the requested administrative responsibilities as assigned. There will, however, be room to develop the HR Generalist strategic skill set over time with the company. HOW WILL WE HELP YOU GROW?
