RN II - APHERESIS (WIP) Fri-Sat-Sun

Job Summary This position works under the general supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider, and/or nursing leadership to provide nursing services in the care and treatment of patients. Responsibilities Perform and accurately document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments. Anticipate patients’ and/or their families’ needs and expectations and use these to develop an appropriate plan of care. Identify and implement appropriate nursing interventions, complete accurate and timely documentation of these interventions, and act as an active coordinator of the interdisciplinary plan of care. Prioritize nursing interventions, promptly identify changes in condition, and report and take follow‑up action as appropriate. Evaluate implemented interventions, modify care according to evaluation, and document changes in a timely manner. Adhere to hospital and department policies, procedures, clinical pathways, and nationally accepted standards of nursing practice while delivering care. Provide timely answers and education to patients and/or families, obtain feedback, and document all education provided. Welcome and orient patients/families to the unit, encourage participation in care, review plan of care each shift, and explain special diets, tests, procedures, and medications in clear language. Assume accountability for all actions in the workplace, report errors promptly, and rectify them. Advocate for patients/families, respond to complaints appropriately, and report them to the Clinical Nurse Manager or designee. Participate in performance‑improvement activities, attend at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and 100% of mandatory educational sessions. Provide supervision and direction to unlicensed support personnel and new nurses, delegating duties within legal parameters. Perform other duties as assigned, which may include interacting with patients, maintaining or modifying patient records, or handling research participant records. Required Qualifications Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. One year of RN experience. Current Texas (or BNE Compact State) license under the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC). Completed Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses accredited by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
