The Real Estate Paralegal will work directly with attorneys and clients during due diligence, closings, and post-closing work of commercial real estate transactions.Essential DutiesDrafting transaction documentation for attorneys and assisting with post-closing workManage and assist with the closing of various transactions, including preparation, coordination, distribution, and organization of closing bindersAssist attorneys to index, organize documents, correspondence, memorandums, and attorney notesProofread legal documents and contractsReviewing Survey and Title Insurance documentation in commercial real estate transactionsObtain, organize, review and summarize due diligence materials, including corporate status certificates and certified corporate documents, and real estate title examinations and surveys, as well as preparation of necessary documentation to correct or clear titlePerform special projects as assignedDraft memos regarding the status of projectsMaintain current and accurate daily time recordAbility to work overtime and irregular hours as dictated by the Firm and client needs.Skills Needed To Be SuccessfulAbility to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.Work typically requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally and statewide, via private or public conveyance to assist attorney in attending to client needs on legal matters.Education & ExperienceCompletion of a four-year college degree is required, paralegal certificate optional.5-10+ Years of experience as a Transactional/Real Estate paralegal.Equal Opportunity EmployerAlston & Bird LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer does not discriminate on the bases of any status protected under federal, state, or local law.
