Strategic Prospect Research & Programs Manager

Department : Development Salary :Commensurate with Experience/Education Description : Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university programor department, including the supervision of staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.

1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large orcomplex department or program.
2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budgetanalysis.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.
4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals,operations and procedure manuals, and other written material anddocumentation.
5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures andactivities.
6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.
7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies andprocedures.
8. May serve as property custodian for the department.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directlyjob-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None. Additional Duties

• Proactively identify and qualify new donor prospects with UHaffiliation using a variety of research tools (e.g., iWave,ResearchPoint, Lexis Nexis and other resources), wealth screenings,internal data mining, and reliable external website and datasources.
• Understand, evaluate and rank potential donors using the LAIframework to assess linkage, ability and interest of potentialdonors/alumni and prospects.
• Evaluate donor capacity through real estate holdings, SEC filings,compensation data, business affiliations, business valuation andphilanthropic history following standard business practices.
• Monitor news, publications, philanthropic data, and otherresources to identify significant wealth events, news, updates andother affiliations tied to potential donors and share these storieswith gift officers/relevant teams and ensuring this data isaccurately captured in BBCRM.
• Contribute to strategic portfolio reviews and support movesmanagement tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with Director of PMR, prospect research, prospectmanagement analyst and front-line fundraisers to ensure timelyfollow-up and strategic next steps for newly identified prospectsand strategically build and optimize their assigned fundraisingportfolio using MG prospects. Flag and review prospects forre-assignment.
• Update and maintain accurate and up-to-date biographical –addressing and contact data, financial, and engagement, researchrationale and other data within the university’s BBCRM to enhanceand support organizational information infrastructure.
• Meet or exceed monthly metrics and performance goals related toreactive/proactive prospect identification and capacityratings
