Senior Accountant

BCT Development is a rapidly growing ground‑up multifamily development company headquartered in Newport Beach, CA. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and oversee corporate accounting, review fund and property‑level reporting to help scale the overall organization. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance and operates as an individual contributor role with no direct reports. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced self‑starter to contribute to a rapidly growing organization and support a robust pipeline of deals. Responsibilities Accounting & Reporting Oversee corporate accounting including monthly close, consolidations and internal reporting Review and monitor accounting of all property and joint venture entities prepared by third party accounting firm including review of trial balances, general ledgers and supporting schedules Coordinate with upper management to ensure timely submission of monthly variance analysis explanations for budget/underwriting to actual results, including investigation and comment documentation Maintain cash flow forecasts and oversee daily treasury management Prepare and aggregate fund and investment cash flow projections and capital needs Organize contribution and distribution calculations, summaries and notices as needed Prepare and/or review waterfall calculations as needed for investment entities and joint ventures Provide information as needed for the quarterly valuation process and work with internal and external parties (appraisers) to ensure the accuracy of the data gathered and output For purchase/sale transactions, review/approve proration schedule. Track expenditures against schedule and settle with Buyer/Seller in the required timeframe. Prepare lender and investor reports across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles Prepare and review ad hoc analyses for LPs, lenders and internal team members Tax, Compliance &Controls Work alongside Tax Accountants to ensure REIT Compliance/Quarterly REIT testing by providing information as required Oversee compliance with loan covenants, insurance policies and regulations Support debt reporting and covenant tracking Liaise with lenders and internal teams on capital markets and audit matters Ensure internal controls are implemented and regularly tested Construction & Development Review project budgets and draws in partnership with Asset Management and Development Coordinate and prepare reimbursement requests, monthly loan draw requests and reserve tracking Process Management Improve processes and establish scalable best practices to support scale, accuracy and timeliness Coordinate with third party accounting partners Serve as internal lead for Yardi systems and reporting Assist in establishment of new bank accounts and banking relations and prepare bank documents for related online banking access and security Qualifications 7+ years ideally combining public accounting and private equity real estate (CPA preferred) Proficient in GAAP, financial reporting and fund structures Expertise in Excel, Yardi experience ideal Strong organizational skills and ability to meet competing deadlines Clear communicator with the ability to convey complex topics to varied audiences Strong judgment and analytical problem‑solving capabilities The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive and additional assignments may be required at any time.
