Regulatory Case Manager

Job Summary Responsible, with the operating company, for overall development and management of filings to state and federal regulatory agencies, including those filings which may impact meeting corporate earnings objectives. Responsible for significant input into corporate regulatory strategy development and coordination. Educates others on interrelationships between cost drivers and revenue. Job Description What You'll Do: Lead broad-based effort to develop, file, and manage major filings with state regulatory commissions, in coordination with the operating companies. Assume primary responsibility for development of major filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, as well. Support the overall process for the filings, including responsibility for accuracy and completeness of required schedules, and identification of witnesses and development of testimony. Provide input into decision process on key strategic issues shaping the Company's regulatory initiatives. Develop teams and networks that extend through the company from which to draw necessary information to develop regulatory strategies. Maintain knowledge of trends and policies within the commissions that affect the company's operation. This includes regulatory decisions, rules and information requirements. Develop strategic alternatives and analysis and makes recommendations for resolution of regulatory issues. Support operating companies in carrying out their responsibilities to maintain appropriate business relationships with state commissions by providing data, analysis, and recommendations, as necessary. Provide, as authorized, functional supervision over designated subordinates on specific project assignments. What We're Looking For: Regulatory Case Manager (Grade 9): Education requirements: Bachelor' degree Work Experience requirement: Minimum of 6 years of experience with emphasis on one or more of the following - utility accounting and applications, rates, tariff development and application, commercial operations, management, and/or other pertinent experience. Electric utility experience is preferred. Regulatory Case Manager (Grade 10): Education requirements: Bachelor' degree Work Experience requirement: Minimum of 8 years of experience with emphasis on one or more of the following - utility accounting and applications, rates, tariff development and application, commercial operations, management, and/or other pertinent experience. Electric utility experience is preferred. Other Must Haves: Ability to travel, including overnight, to support regulatory case activity and ongoing training. The Regulatory Consultant supports AEP's regulatory activities by helping develop, coordinate, analyze, and execute filings before state and federal regulatory agencies. Working in a collaborative team environment, this position partners closely with Case Managers, attorneys, subject matter experts, and business leaders to support regulatory filings that are critical to AEP's operations and strategic objectives.This role combines regulatory analysis, project coordination, research, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include supporting filing development, managing regulatory processes, conducting industry and peer utility research, coordinating filing activities, and helping ensure regulatory requirements are met.
