Job Opportunity: Full-Time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)

We are a physician-led multispecialty group with over 650 providers, currently seeking a Full-Time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated team of 3 Neonatologists and 6 NNPs in the Boise metropolitan area.

Our 32-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Boise provides exceptional care for more than 250 infants each year. We offer advanced treatments including conventional ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), and jet ventilation for preterm and term infants. Our NICU is designed to serve families from Boise and surrounding regions in Idaho and eastern Oregon, ensuring expert neonatal care is accessible close to home.

The Saint Alphonsus Family Maternity Center delivers over 1,400 infants annually and is supported by a highly skilled labor and delivery nursing team, an OB Hospitalist service, and 24-hour anesthesia coverage. Our safety-focused team of OB/GYNs collaborates with on-campus Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, Neonatologists, and genetic counselors to cater to the diverse needs of our patient population.

Additionally, our 4-bed, Level II NICU in Nampa, located just 15 miles west of Boise, is integrated with the Birkeland Maternity Center, which sees around 1,300 deliveries each year. This unit currently provides specialized care for newborns over 34 weeks gestation and weighing more than 1500 grams, with plans to expand to an 18-bed facility by 2028.

Our NICU teams are dedicated to practicing evidence-based medicine, and we emphasize a family-centered approach that encourages collaboration between parents and our expert staff in both Boise and Nampa. Together, we strive to achieve outcomes that surpass national benchmarks.

• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage NICU admissions.
• Co-manage NICU patients alongside the attending Neonatologist and oversee well newborn nursery patients as needed.
• Engage in multidisciplinary rounds with the Neonatologist, implementing management strategies that may involve nutritional adjustments, ventilator management, lab and radiology reviews, and family updates.

• Level III, Boise: 16-hour shifts with in-house NNP coverage from 4 PM to 8 AM.
• Level II, Nampa: 24-hour shifts requiring a minimum of 4 hours on-site, with the remainder on-call, including well newborn coverage.
• A full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) requires 10 shifts per month (120 annually).

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current RN and APRN licensure; national board certification as an NNP is preferred.
• Alternatively, a graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program with a neonatal fellowship/residency or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level III/IV NICU, along with current NP licensure.
• Possession of a current DEA and controlled substance Idaho medical license, along with privileges at our facilities in Boise and Nampa.
