The Arc of Centre County is hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism stay involved and active in their communities. If you are kind, compassionate, and reliable, we've got the career for you!Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)Pay: $18/hour + $1,200 Sign-on BonusDepartment: Community Participation Supports (CPS) Location:  State College and Bellefonte, PASchedule: Full-Time, Weekday Availability PreferredNo Experience Needed (all training is paid!) Get paid to help adults with disabilities live more independently. You'll help with community outings, transportation, goal achievement, and building real relationships. This fun job is based on community involvement and helping people to achieve their goals.Schedule & PayStarting pay: $18/hour$1,200 sign-on/stay-on bonusAdditional $1/hour shift differentials for late nights, weekends, and holidays (differentials can stack!)Opportunities to pick up extra shifts and overtime (time-and-a-half)Benefits26 hours of paid training per year6 premium holidays annually; time-and-a-half pay for hourly employees who work those holidaysMileage reimbursed at $0.725/mile if using personal vehicle to transport individualsAgency Vehicles are availableRequired Qualifications18+ years of ageHigh School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license (agency vehicles provided for community outings)TB test and physicalAble to lift 50 pounds & assist with physical supports such as lifting, bending, standing, etc.May require access to personal vehiclePreferred, but Not Required: Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A)Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcareWhat You'll DoSupport individuals in developing daily living skills, social and communication abilities, and job readiness competenciesAssist with personal care and facilitate community engagementSupport individuals in achieving their personal goalsHelp plan and participate in social, recreational, and community experiencesDriving is part of the jobYou'll use your own car or agency vehicles to take individuals to activitiesMileage is reimbursed at $0.76 per mileInsurance Requirements - Any increase in insurance costs are reimbursed!Growth OpportunitiesProfessional Development: We invest in our DSPs by supporting NADSP credentialing  that recognize the important work they do every day.
