Join us.Job SummaryMay Mobility is entering an exciting phase of growth and our team is expanding quickly. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to add to our Finance team. We are looking for a candidate that can build new processes, maximize the use of our ERP system, and work cross-functionally. This role reports to the Accounting Manager.Essential ResponsibilitiesReview accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences through proper documentation to ensure integrity of accounting informationResearch unique transactions and demonstrate the ability to independently determine proper accounting treatment and considerationsPrepare and manage month end close accruals, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations and ability to present the results to managementPartner directly with vendors as part of monthly invoicing coordination and onboarding of new vendors as neededDemonstrate working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to provide cross-functional support to those functions.Collaborate and plan with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure proper inventory and bill of materials tracking for vehicle buildsAssist the Accounting team with financial statement preparation and audits, including preparation of footnote disclosures, related support and tie out supportDemonstrate an understanding of accounting standards (specifically ASC 606) to come to an accounting treatment and ability to document and present such conclusions to the Accounting ManagerDemonstrate an independent understanding of Company's expense policies and ability to manage and coordinate with employees to uphold compliance and reportingProvide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performanceSupport new system implementations and internal controls documentation as neededProvide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to the Accounting Manager and other Finance team membersOther duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesSuccess in this role typically requires the following competencies:Impeccable discretion and integrity when handling confidential or sensitive informationAbility to understand and relate to the agile startup and engineering mindsetExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong attention to detail and highly-organizedAbility to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environmentPassionate about self-driving cars and their impact on the worldQualifications and ExperienceCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:RequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field4+ years working in corporate finance or public accountingStrong understanding of US GAAPExceptional problem-solving skillsStrong analytical and data mining skillsStrong working knowledge of ExcelExcellent attention to detailExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to diplomatically approach team members to discuss sensitive financial mattersAbility to use professional judgment to escalate matters when necessaryFlexibility and ability to display sound judgment while operating in a fast-paced environmentDesirableMBA or Master of AccountingCPA preferredNetSuite experienceInventory and Fixed Asset experienceExperience using Google SuitePhysical RequirementsStandard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:Prolonged sittingProlonged standingProlonged computer useTravel required? - Minimal: 1%-10%Benefits and PerksComprehensive healthcare suite including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
