Client Onboarding Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Client Onboarding Manager to support a Private Client and Commercial Banking onboarding function undergoing a significant process and technology transformation. This individual will oversee the end-to-end review and quality control of new account onboarding, with a strong focus on AML/KYC, entity documentation, beneficial ownership, account opening requirements, and operational accuracy. The team is transitioning onboarding activities into a new application, which is being built out in phases, beginning with AML/KYC and ultimately expanding further into the account-opening process and integration with DocuSign. The ideal candidate will have strong banking operations experience and be comfortable navigating complex individual, fiduciary, and commercial account structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the onboarding and account-opening process for Private Client Group and Commercial Banking clients.

• Review client and account information submitted through the system,

including:

o Client/contact information

o Account and registration type

o Beneficial owners, authorized signers, and other related parties

o AML/KYC information

o Nature of business o Source of wealth and source of income

o Business/industry information

o Cryptocurrency exposure

• Review identity verification results for both individuals and businesses and determine when additional documentation is required.

• Review automated OFAC screening and other onboarding controls and escalate issues when necessary.

• Review higher-risk accounts identified through the risk assessment process.

• Validate formation documents, court documents, identification documents, operating agreements, and other supporting documentation against the account and registration type.

• Ensure beneficial ownership information is complete and consistent with legal documentation, including identifying missing owners or discrepancies.

• Review complex registrations, including:

o LLCs

o Corporations

o Partnerships and limited partnerships

o Trusts o Fiduciary accounts

o Power of Attorney arrangements

o Bankruptcy-related accounts

o Real estate/property management accounts

• Perform 100% quality-control review before accounts are finalized, identifying issues such as incorrect Tax IDs/SSNs, missing documentation, improper signatures, or inconsistent client data.

• Partner with PCG and internal operations teams to resolve onboarding exceptions and accounts that are not in good order.

• Enter and validate approved account information within a different system and other downstream systems. These systems will kick off the documentation sent to the client via Docusign.

• Ensure required documents align with the specific account registration and product being opened.

• Support final account setup and downstream processing required to enable the client to transact.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience in banking client onboarding, account opening, KYC/AML, or deposit operations.

• Experience supporting both individual/private banking and commercial/business accounts.

• Experience leading a team

• Strong understanding of U.S. business entity structures, including:

o LLCs

o Corporations

o Partnerships

o Limited partnerships

• Knowledge of beneficial ownership/UBO and authorized signer requirements.

• Experience reviewing legal and organizational documentation and determining whether documentation supports the account type being opened.

• Familiarity with trusts, fiduciary relationships, Powers of Attorney, and court-appointed relationships.

• Strong quality-control mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies across client data, legal documents, KYC information, and account-opening records.

• Experience working through onboarding exceptions and escalating higher-risk or incomplete accounts.

• Ability to work within multiple systems and adapt to evolving onboarding technology and processes.
