General Maintenance Technician
A General Maintenance Technician ensures the safe and efficient operation of physical structures, equipment, and grounds. They troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, while performing routine facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment. Change filters, replace light bulbs, and lubricate moving parts.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and fix minor electrical (switches, outlets), plumbing (leaks, clogged toilets), and structural issues. Perform drywall patching, painting, and carpentry.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled PM tasks on building systems (like HVAC units) to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Work Order Management: Prioritize incoming repair requests, track time and materials, and log completions in a Computerized Maintenance Management System
Qualifications Required: Valid driver's license. Driver must maintain insurability while employed Must be able to pass a background check. Ability to read blueprints, and sequence of operations. Ability to work standing for extended periods of time. Proper lifting & or pushing of objects up to 50 plus pounds. Ability to follow instructions and communicate both written and verbally. Meet schedules and timelines daily while following all health and safety regulations.
