Experienced Patent Agent (Chemistry) Location: Seattle, WA preferred; may also be based in Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Washington, DC; or Winston-Salem, NC Employment Type: Full-Time Overview Kilpatrick is seeking an experienced USPTO-registered Patent Agent with a focus on Chemistry. This role is designed for a candidate with strong law firm-based patent prosecution experience who can handle sophisticated chemistry, pharmaceutical, and small molecule matters, while also supporting client counseling, opinion work, and Patent Office litigation. Key Responsibilities Handle patent prosecution for chemistry and related technologies Support client counseling and opinion preparation Assist with Patent Office litigation matters, including IPR/PGR proceedings Draft and manage technically sophisticated patent filings Work closely with clients in a law firm environment on ongoing portfolio matters Qualifications At least 3+ years of relevant patent prosecution experience Must be actively practicing in a law firm environment Must have active USPTO registration number Technical degree or advanced degree in Chemistry or closely related field, or equivalent experience Chemistry, pharmaceutical, and/or small molecule prosecution experience required Strong technical writing skills preferred Transcripts and writing samples will be requested Compensation Patent Agent compensation is based on internal Levels 1-4 and varies depending on education level, engineering experience, and law firm experience.
