Patent Agent

Overview Koch is seeking an experienced patent agent with a business-oriented approach to patent portfolio development to join our integrated intellectual property team supporting the diverse companies of Koch around the globe, including Molex. The role can be located in Wichita, KS; Atlanta, GA; or Lisle, IL. What You Will Do Partner with stakeholders to understand innovations and business objectives Develop, shape, and manage global patent portfolios, including overseeing outside counsel in the preparation of patent applications and efficiently managing a global patent docket Assist with competitive patent searches and risks assessments Support in-house counsel with patent enforcement, dispute resolution, and M&A due diligence Advance the IP team’s transformation through the execution of initiatives that optimize processes and advance the adoption of AI Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Registration to practice before the USPTO Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, optics, or computer science At least three years of patent drafting and prosecution experience in a law firm or corporate environment, with an electro-mechanical focus Proficiency with IP management systems and searching tools, such as Anaqua and Acclaim IP What Will Put You Ahead Previous experience as an in-house patent practitioner Demonstrated experience developing and using AI tools for improving patent prosecution Compensation For this role, we anticipate paying $130,000 - $170,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
