Nurse Manager of Telemetry

Job Summary and Qualifications Seeking a Nurse Manager of Telemetry who is responsible to the Director, Vice President, and/or the Chief Nursing Officer for facilitating, coordinating and delegating the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their entire hospitalization period. The Nurse Manager is responsible 24 hours a day for the staffing and management of patient care in each unit, promoting professional nursing practice in the patient care area, and utilizing resources to fulfill those responsibilities. Responsibilities Build and maintain a high functioning team and provide leadership and direction for staffing the unit(s) in accordance with organizational goals and objectives. Identify staffing modifications based on patient acuity and census. Manage personnel: interview, allocate work, orient and train, develop staff, resolve problems, evaluate performance, recommend personnel actions, and motivate employees to achieve peak performance. Meet unit productivity targets. Plan, organize, facilitate, and direct patient care delivered on the unit on a 24-hr basis in accordance with internal and external standards (e.g., unit, department, hospital, TJC, Medicare, OSHA). Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. 1+ years applicable experience required; 3+ years preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Current license to practice professional registered nursing in the state of Texas.
