This role presents a fantastic opportunity for personal and professional growth. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with weekly on-call rotation. As a Full-Time Facilities Technician at Allen County Public Library, you will harness your exceptional skills to perform skilled trades duties that are vital for our library's smooth operation. You'll be the go-to expert for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems, ensuring that every corner of our facilities remains functional and welcoming. From troubleshooting HVAC systems to performing electrical repairs, your hands-on experience will be invaluable in creating an inviting environment for our patrons.

You'll work collaboratively with a fun and energetic team, all while showcasing your expertise and dedication to maintaining the Library's structural integrity. Your efforts will play a crucial role in promoting literacy and learning in the community we love!

To thrive as a Full-Time Facilities Technician at Allen County Public Library, you'll need a robust set of skills and knowledge in various trades. A solid understanding of principles, methods, and materials for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry installation and repair is essential. Proficiency in operating hand, power, and shop tools will empower you to tackle diverse tasks effectively. Familiarity with safety regulations and practices is crucial to ensure a secure work environment. You’ll also need basic computer literacy for web-based work order tracking and maintaining accurate logs related to your work.

Additionally, the ability to safely operate small vehicles like vans, pickup trucks, and forklifts is key for onsite tasks. Your adeptness in shop mathematics and hands-on experience with facility operating systems will be the foundation of your success, allowing you to keep our library facilities in top-notch condition!
