Star Cutter employs over 750 employees in six domestic manufacturing facilities and global operations in Europe, Mexico, China, and Brazil. Each manufacturing facility specializes in producing a specific type of product or service including solid carbide cutting tools, carbide blanks and preform, gear cutting tools, round tools, and 5‑axis CNC tool and cutter grinding machines. We are seeking a dynamic, driven Area Sales Manager to represent Star Cutter in the South‑Central United States region including Texas, Oklahoma, and stretching across to Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business, supporting existing business, developing distribution partners, and nurturing strong customer relationships within one of our most strategic regions. Job Responsibilities Provide input into segment, product and other plans/marketing content as requested by the internal party responsible. Develop effective sales strategy for assigned territories and accounts. Efficiently support management of customer relationships by tracking and maintaining customer profile information to include contact details, opportunities, and segmentation information. Effectively communicate with current and potential customers to ensure full understanding of Star capabilities and product offerings. Develop strong understanding of customer businesses to customize value proposition in partnering with Star company. Engage with customers to understand current usage of products and new project opportunities, leveraging the appropriate internal and external resources. Communicate effectively within the organization, consolidating and sharing customer feedback. Facilitate receipt and processing of quotes and orders. As needed to meet customer expectations, coordinate with internal resources. Effectively collaborate with functions across the organization including a range of technical/applications resources, manufacturing teams, and product management leadership. Travel regularly throughout the territory (50–70%) to ensure support and development of accounts. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline is preferred. 5+ years of technical sales experience in cutting tools, machine tools, and/or metalworking, preferred. History of hands‑on responsibility in applying and optimizing manufacturing processes (gear cutting, drilling, reaming, milling, etc.). Experience and proficiency in effectively utilizing CRM software to ensure database accuracy and essential reporting ability.
