Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a 1:1 Paraprofessional in a school setting near Spring Grove, PA. In this behavioral support role, you'll work closely with one student, implementing strategies to foster academic growth and positive behavior, with a chance to make a meaningful impact every day. This position runs from now through May 26, 2027, following a Monday through Friday schedule from approximately 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM (35–37.5 hours weekly).
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of behavior support or trauma-informed paraprofessional experience (must be noted on your resume)
- Background in special education, behavioral support, psychology, social work, or trauma-informed care preferred
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and use de-escalation techniques in challenging situations
- Strong commitment to professional boundaries and consistency in following behavior intervention plans
- Meets Pennsylvania paraprofessional requirements, or willing to obtain para certification within 60 days if not already certified
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, individualized academic and behavioral support to an elementary student with Reactive Attachment Disorder
- Ride the bus with the student as needed to ensure safety and routine
- Implement the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan and maintain predictable routines throughout the school day
- Collect data and document the student’s progress according to protocols
- Collaborate with teaching and special education staff to support student growth and independence
