Summary:
Client is hiring a VP, Business Development to be based out of El Segundo, California. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is for someone who is hungry, scrappy, and tenacious in the pursuit of pipeline development.




Responsibilities and Duties:

• Independently source and qualify leads across commercial verticals primarily across Fortune 500 companies.
• Originate and then lead client conversations from first contact through discovery, proposal, and term sheet.
• Working with executive leadership, support negotiation of commercial documents toward binding agreements.
• Build and maintain a pipeline independently, with an emphasis on quality over volume.
• Develop tailored proposals and external communications.
• Learn the fundamentals of the product itself as well as siting, licensing, and utility energy well enough to speak credibly with customers and identify what it takes to get a deal across the finish line.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to source national (vs. regional) opportunities independently, not just manage inbound leads. This is fundamental. You must have this.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 7-10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related commercial role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel and attend in-person meetings.
