2026-27 AY Lecturer & Clinical Pool - School of Nursing

Overview Lecturer Pool – School of Nursing, Sacramento State School of Nursing. Part‑time instructional faculty positions with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Duties include teaching across a range of nursing programs (traditional BSN, RN-BSN, ADN-BSN Collaborative, MSN, School Nurse Credential, and planned BSN-DNP). Applicants should be able to teach in multiple specialties and are encouraged to have experience in mental health and other areas of demand. Responsibilities Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours for assigned courses. Teach courses in medical–surgical, mental health, obstetrics, pediatrics, leadership & management, community health, public health, and school nursing. Participate in course and curriculum development and contribute to departmental needs. Adhere to scheduling and modality protocols set by the Department Chair and College Dean. Perform additional duties as needed to support department operations. Qualifications Required Qualifications Minimum of a BSN and 5 years of RN practice (with at least one year in last 5 years) for the traditional program. Minimum of an MSN and 5 years of RN practice for RN‑BSN or MSN programs. Unencumbered California RN license. Advanced education in pharmacology, pathophysiology, assessment, health policy, nursing theory, or school nursing for master’s‑level instruction. Preferred Qualifications 5 years RN practice plus a master’s degree in nursing or an accredited bachelor’s degree in nursing with a master’s in a health‑related field. Teaching experience and curriculum development at the graduate level. Experience teaching online courses. Ability to teach large classes. Expertise in mental health, school nursing, or community health nursing at the master’s level. Rank and Salary Initial ranks for lecturers are based on professional experience and education. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. Current salary ranges (full‑time equivalent 15 WTUs) are: Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211 Salaries are prorated based on units taught and paid in six installments per semester.
