Job Title: 1st Shift CNC Operator Job Description
The 1st Shift CNC Operator sets up, runs, and monitors ANCA CNC cutting machines to produce precise components according to engineering specifications. This role includes preparing tooling and materials, loading and running CNC programs, and inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, an interest in CNC machining, and the ability to follow detailed safety and production procedures while maintaining accurate documentation. This is a steady firstshift opportunity offering handson machining experience and longterm skill development in a clean, organized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

• Set up ANCA CNC cutting machines according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and load appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Load, run, and monitor CNC programs, making basic adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and machine performance.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and other gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and production documentation to ensure correct part features and specifications.
• Perform basic machine cleaning, routine checks, and minor adjustments to keep equipment in good operating condition.
• Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
• Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, inspection results, and any issues encountered during the run.
• Communicate effectively with team members and leadership about production status, quality concerns, and improvement ideas.
• Report to work consistently and on time, and reliably work the assigned firstshift schedule.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new CNC skills, processes, and equipment over time.
• Support a clean, organized, and efficient work area in line with 5S and housekeeping expectations.

Essential Skills

• Strong interest in CNC operating and machining, with a willingness to develop skills over time.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic engineering drawings.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production machinery.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to consistently work the assigned firstshift hours.
• High attention to detail to ensure parts meet quality and specification requirements.
• Willingness to learn new tasks, processes, and equipment with a proactive, selfmotivated attitude.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong work ethic and a "gogetter" mindset focused on productivity and continuous improvement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in longterm growth and developing a career in CNC machining.
• Experience or familiarity with CNC lathes is a plus.
• Exposure to or interest in working with Mazak equipment is beneficial.
• Any prior experience with CNC machine setup or operation, even in a training or school environment, is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a structured manufacturing environment with production goals and quality standards.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fond du Lac, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
