Details Work in a rapid admission unit caring for general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting surgery Patient population includes general medical and pre-surgical patients with faster turnover than a typical med/surg unit Patient ratio of 5-6:1 for Med/Surg RN Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week No on-call requirements Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month Block scheduling is generally not approved Requirements Active RN license (GA or Compact) required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg-Tele specialty required Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospital settings required Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered Strong communication skills and ability to work independently required Candidate profile must include work history with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys license verification Additional Information Care for patients in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases Requires proven success working in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments Requires experience managing critical, fast-paced situations Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as the travel rate American Traveler Job ID P-739192.
