Desired Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina School Psychologist license, as required by the state
- North Carolina School Psychologist certification (both required for all contractual staff)
- Previous experience in school psychology (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of evidence-based assessment tools and intervention strategies
- Skilled communicator who can collaborate with students, families, and staff of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to adapt to various school settings
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
- Passion for supporting students from multiple backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychological and educational assessments to identify students' needs
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to support student achievement
- Provide direct counseling services and crisis intervention as needed
- Contribute to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) teams
- Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Offer consultation and professional development to educators regarding student behavior and mental health
- Promote inclusive, supportive school cultures
