This role plays a key part in ensuring our shelves are full, our standards are met, and our customers receive an exceptional shopping experience. The Grocery Lead partners closely with leadership to guide team members, maintain merchandising plans, and uphold Meijer’s commitment to freshness, safety, and service.**What you’ll be doing:*** Lead daily grocery operations, including stocking, zoning, inventory rotation, and merchandising execution.* Provide direction and support to team members to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to department standards.* Monitor inventory levels, identify out‐of‐stocks, and communicate replenishment needs.* Ensure planogram and promotional sets are completed accurately and on schedule.* Maintain freshness and food safety standards, including proper rotation (FIFO), temperature checks, and shrink control.* Support training and onboarding of new team members within the Grocery department.* Deliver excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with product questions and locating items.* Collaborate with store leadership to meet sales goals, labor targets, and operational expectations.* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.**What You Bring with You (Qualifications):*** Passion for customer service with total engagement that conveys approachability to customers and fellow team members.* Initiates interactions with customers and peers.* Excellent verbal and written communication* Retail or other customer service experience preferred* Creative thinking skills* Ability to influence others* Ability to quickly build rapport and gain customer confidence to create repeat business* Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product* Experience executing plans* Positive influence to create a strong team environment.* A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued and supported.### About UsWe opened our doors more than 90 years ago with the goal of helping people provide for themselves and their family.
