OpticianDepartment: OpticalReports To: Optical SupervisorJOB SUMMARY: This individual is responsible for all aspects of the successful operation of the optical shop by directing, coordinating, and communicating pertinent information, except for issues involving professional judgment beyond licensure. The optician interprets prescriptions, conducts patient consultation, and recommends frames and lenses. The optician creates and maintains displays of optical merchandise, and maintains inventory within the optical retail area.RESPONSIBILITIES:Business Planning:Develops an annual business plan for the optical shop and presents it to the owners.Develops annual marketing plans with the management team.Serves as primary interface with vendorsOperations:Develops and manages effective inventory control.Tracks referrals and capture rate effectively.Develops and communicates effective monthly reports.Tracks and reports sales margins in aggregate and by plan.Researches local and regional managed care opportunities.Travel RequiredJob Type: Full-timeFillmore Eye Clinic, Inc has the right to change or modify the job description at any time or to assign duties other than those specifically listed in the section describing essential functions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Two years business management experience preferred.Varied optical management experience preferred.Experience in negotiating general business contracts with vendorsFamiliarity with managed vision care contracting.Budgetary experience.Inventory management experience.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Maintains all required state licensure.Demonstrates appropriate team player attitude and enthusiasm.Works accurately and efficiently in Word and Excel. #J-18808-Ljbffr FILLMORE EYE CLINIC INCORPORATED
