Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician Nidec Minster Corporation, the largest manufacturer of material forming presses in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Field Service Technician. The role is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance, supervising and training customers and their personnel, and ensuring proper operation of Minster equipment. Job Responsibilities Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of Nidec Minster stamping presses and coil line systems, including occasional work on non-Minster equipment. Commission new and remanufactured metal forming equipment in customer plants. Audit customer metal forming equipment and report all repair requirements found. Provide written and oral reports in English accurately and professionally. Promote service parts and preventative maintenance contracts. Work flexible hours to support customer service needs, including any portion of a 24-hour day, 7 days a week. Benefits Company provided service vehicle, specialty tools, telephone, and laptop. $75 daily per diem for domestic travel, $95 daily per diem for international travel; paid out weekly. Salary range $83k-$93k with opportunities for additional $10k-$40k in compensation. Ability to keep accumulated travel points for personal use. 4 weeks paid time off eligibility immediately upon hire. Guaranteed 45 hours/week. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and installation techniques. Capable of performing mechanical press repair or mechanical knowledge of machinery found in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Represent Nidec Minster Corporation effectively in business and social situations as may be required. Able to work effectively with minimum supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Extensive domestic and international travel required—90%.
