As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problemsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 plus years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced level design skills required for this roleAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java, Spring, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, MQ, Cassandra, Oracle, , Kubernetes, PowerMock, JMeter, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, Jenkins and etc.Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies, including continuous integration and delivery, application resiliency, and securityDemonstrated proficiency in cloud-native technologies, including experience with Amazon Web Services and KubernetesExperience with data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and message queuing systemsDemonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized, AI-assisted software development tools — including coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting — with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and securityStrong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations, with experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoptionPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with distributed caching platform such as Gemfire or Redis Experience with behavior-driven development using Cucumber and continuous integration using Jenkins and SpinnakerExperience with database technologies such as Postgres, Oracle, Mongo DBExceptional client relationship skills, including the ability to uncover true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical approaches, and drive efforts to meet committed timelinesHands-on AI experience with coding and understanding core conceptsAbility to self-drive delivery and take ownership end to end JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
