Description

American Traveler seeks a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with CA license and 2+ years of acute care and pediatric experience for a teaching hospital assignment.

Details

• Acute care, Children's Hospital, Pediatric Rehabilitation, and PICU settings
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Monday through Friday with one Saturday per month
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Current CA SLP license required if applicable
• AHA BLS certification required
• CCC-SLP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Acute care, Children's Hospital, Pediatric Rehab, and PICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study for adult and pediatric populations required
• Experience with Total Laryngectomy, Trach/Vent, and Speaking Valve required
• Competency in Dysphagia management for pediatric and adult populations required
• Pediatric Outpatient experience preferred
• Clinical experience in an academic medical center preferred
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred

Additional Information

• Conduct assessments, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge planning for pediatric and adult patients
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations and Modified Barium Swallow Studies
• Manage dysphagia including oral motor therapy, diet modifications, and use of thickening agents
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomy, laryngectomy, and Passy Muir Valve needs
• Treat pediatric conditions including developmental delays, language disorders, TBI, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia
• Treat adult conditions including dysphagia, TBI, laryngectomy, and nervous system disorders
• Provide patient and family education as part of care plan
• Document using concurrent therapy treatment and billing/documentation standards
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel
• Floating to other departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
