Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

This role works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Please note, each project is unique and the respective duties and responsibilities can vary depending on the size, scope, and project needs.Supervisory Responsibility: NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Assist in managing day-to-day project activities from preconstruction through closeoutCoordinate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIsMaintain accurate project records and logsSupport project scheduling and monitor progress against timelinesDocument Control & CommunicationReview and process submittals for compliance with project plans and specificationsPrepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs)Attend all project meetings, create and distribute meeting minutesDistribute updated drawings and project documents to relevant team membersAssist Superintendent with photo documentation and creation of daily logsServe as a liaison between project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and subcontractorsCost & Budget SupportAssist with budgeting, cost tracking, and forecastingSupport change order preparation and documentationReview and track subcontractor pay applicationsQuality & ComplianceHelp ensure all work complies with contract documents, building codes, and company standardsConduct site visits and participate in inspectionsAssist with punch list development and project closeout documentationSafetyPromote adherence to company and OSHA safety standardsParticipate in safety meetings and help ensure site safety complianceAssist in safety inspections and track deficiencies.Required Skills/Abilities:Basic knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and materialsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detail with strong follow-up skills and the ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentCapable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing by criticalityFlexible and adaptable with the ability to respond to changing operational needsAbility to read and understand construction documents, specifically, drawings and specificationsAbility to operate basic office equipment, including computer, phones, and Microsoft Office SuiteResults orientedAbility to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a teamEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentBachelor's or Associates degree (or active studies) in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other related field from an accredited programValid driver's licenseOSHA 10 certification preferredProcore (or equivalent) knowledgeWork Environment and Physical Demands:Combination of office and on-site construction environmentProlonged periods of sitting and computer usageFrequent visits to active construction sitesAbility to walk construction sites and navigate uneven terrainExposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and varying temperaturesWork Schedule:Full-time position (40 hours per week)Work hours may vary based on project needs.
