Basic Job Functions:

• Assists workers engaged in the fabrication of structural or sheet metal products by performing any combination of the following tasks:
• Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work-in-progress by hand or truck.
• Cuts material using a saw cutting machine; a bandsaw cutting, particularly cutting multiple dimensions of square tubing, including structural channel.
• Might work on I-Beam cutting as well.
• Reads drawings and blueprints.
• Understand and follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing experience or saw operating experience.
• Able to work 10–12-hour rotational shifts as needed, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with hand tools.
• Being able to read a tape measure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
