Kindergarten Assistant

Overview Camellia Waldorf School is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities Assist lead teacher with the overall rhythm and tasks in the classroom; Assist lead teacher in preparing the classroom and play yard each day; Maintain general order, cleanliness, and aesthetics in classroom and yard; Preparing and cleaning up from snacks; Classroom management and supervision of the students, under the direction and guidance from the lead teacher; Nurture, protect, and guide the children through love and warmth; Providing bathroom support to students; Qualifications Live Scan background screening (required before first day of work); TB risk assessment/clearance (required before first day of work); CPR/first aid certification preferred, or willing to obtain training; Familiarity with Waldorf teaching philosophy, or interest and willingness to learn; Possess a keen sense of awareness of their environment (multi-tasker, alert to surroundings); Friendly and approachable (with students and parents); Positive, energetic personality enjoys working with children; Patient, understanding, able to follow instructions and adhere to specific schedules; Can meet the physical demands of working with young children (bending, stooping, walking on uneven surfaces, floor work, lifting children); Able to manage students in a classroom and playground setting; Strict adherence to school policies and ability to interpret and enforce rules.
