This is a highly visible opportunity to partner with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leaders while helping drive profitability, improve processes, and influence business decisions.If you enjoy digging into manufacturing data, analyzing variances, solving complex accounting challenges, and improving the way organizations operate, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoCost Accounting & Financial AnalysisAnalyze cost of goods sold (COGS), manufacturing variances, and gross margin performanceSupport inventory accounting activities and ensure accurate financial reportingAnalyze duties, freight accruals, excess and obsolete inventory reserves, and other manufacturing-related accounting activitiesAssess the financial impact of manufacturing transactions and operational decisionsMonth-End Close & Financial ReportingPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysesSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activitiesResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling itemsMaintain accurate supporting schedules and documentationERP & Process ImprovementParticipate in a major ERP upgrade, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validation effortsSupport system improvements, process enhancements, and accounting automation initiativesHelp strengthen internal controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencyRecommend and implement improvements to existing accounting workflowsCross-Functional PartnershipPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams to support decision-makingCommunicate financial results, trends, and variances to business partners and leadershipSupport compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirementsAssist with audit requests and ongoing compliance initiativesWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field8+ years of accounting experienceStrong cost accounting and manufacturing accounting experienceMonth-end close experience including:Journal entriesAccount reconciliationsBalance sheet analysisFinancial reportingUnderstanding of:Inventory accountingManufacturing variancesGross margin analysisCOGS analysisKnowledge of US GAAP and SOX controlsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong communication and analytical abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsCPA preferred but not requiredSAP or similar ERP experienceERP implementation or upgrade experienceUser Acceptance Testing (UAT) experienceExperience with E&O reserve analysis, freight accruals, and inventory controlsMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.50 - $59.25/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
