Registered Nurse (RN) Special Care Nursery Level II

Registered Nurse (RN), Special Care Nursery Level I Responsibilities Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient. Reviews and complies with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures. Qualifications Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Current RN to practice/work in the state of Kentucky. Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or obtained within 90 days after hire date). Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification or obtained after 6 months of nursery experience but prior to completing 12 months of nursery experience. Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 90 days after hire date.
