Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms. These firms engage A&M to assess potential transactions or to help improve operating results at existing portfolio companies, typically with annual revenues between $50 million and $1 billion+. Education Industry Mandates Within the Education coverage team, typical mandates comprise synergy assessment or integration planning for organizations in the following segments: K‑12 For‑profit higher education and non‑profit sectors Skilled trade schools Other training and development businesses Merger Integration & Carve‑outs This is your opportunity to join A&M PEPI’s MI&C team and build an impressive range of operational skills. You will be involved throughout the lifecycle of some of the largest, most complex, and high‑profile deals in the U.S., from pre‑deal operational and synergy reviews to ‘Day 1’ planning, post‑deal implementation, restructuring and turnaround planning, and identifying operational risks. Manager Role Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, supplementing standard assessment techniques with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis, and developing recommendations. Lead workstreams or a focus area within the Integration Management Office (IMO) – Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, Organizational Design, etc., depending on deal size. Drive performance improvement across an enterprise, oversee implementation of recommendations, and track progress against Day 1 and Day 100 objectives, adjusting integration strategies or people as required. Responsible for projects covering strategic planning, operational optimisation, back‑office consolidation, supply chain, IT/reporting integration, and customer and channel management. Qualifications 5–8+ years of professional experience (corporate and/or consulting), ideally in merger integration, business transformation, and/or change management. Operating experience in, and exposure to, the for‑profit education sector. Understanding of key value drivers for investing in for‑profit education. Knowledge of major trade‑offs, trends, and issues in for‑profit education nationally and internationally. Experience in integration planning and divestitures is a plus. Experience leading workstreams in business transformation. Deep functional expertise in one or more of: Finance & Accounting operations, HR / Organizational design, Role and Job Analysis, Leadership & Stakeholder Involvement, Communications planning and management, Supply Chain / Operations, Salesforce effectiveness, Marketing optimisation, Pricing/Margin/Mix optimisation, Knowledge Management & Transfer. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Initiative and drive, critical thinking, and flexibility to travel up to 80 % of the time. MBA preferred. Benefits Summary Annual salary range $125,000 – $190,000, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. Discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
