Competitive Compensation * Base salary of $90,000 - $100,000 * Annual performance-based incentive opportunity * Career growth within a global manufacturing organization Work-Life Balance Effective January 1, 2027, our Medina facility will transition to a four-day workweek consisting of four 10-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday). This schedule provides employees with more personal time while maintaining operational excellence and customer service. Production Supervisors may occasionally be required to provide leadership support for up to eight additional hours on Fridays to support critical assets and customer demand. Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing manufacturing operations to achieve world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. This individual serves as the primary leader for assigned manufacturing areas and is accountable for employee engagement, workforce development, production execution, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with daily operational execution. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development * Lead, coach, mentor, and develop hourly production employees and team leads. * Create an environment focused on accountability, engagement, teamwork, and respect. * Build a culture of recognition, ownership, and continuous improvement. * Conduct performance evaluations, coaching discussions, and disciplinary actions when necessary. * Support employee development through training, cross-training, and succession planning. * Maintain strong employee relations while effectively managing performance expectations. Safety Leadership * Champion a zero-incident safety culture. * Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. * Conduct safety observations, investigations, audits, and corrective actions. * Promote adherence to PPE requirements, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices. * Lead by example in creating a safe and healthy work environment. Operational Excellence * Direct daily production activities to ensure attainment of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. * Manage staffing assignments and labor utilization to support production requirements. * Monitor production schedules and proactively address constraints. * Analyze operational metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance. * Ensure accurate shift communication and effective shift handoffs. * Drive improved throughput, efficiency, and schedule attainment. Continuous Improvement * Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including: * 6S * Standard Work * Visual Management * Waste Reduction * Kaizen Events * Root Cause Analysis * Problem Solving Methodologies * Utilize data-driven decision making to identify opportunities and eliminate inefficiencies. * Support capital projects, process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational transformations. Quality & Customer Focus * Ensure compliance with established quality standards and procedures. * Support corrective and preventive action activities. * Drive continuous reduction in scrap, rework, and defects. * Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve customer and internal quality concerns. * Promote a culture where quality is owned at every level. Required Qualifications * Associate degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Five or more years of progressive manufacturing experience. * Minimum three years of leadership experience supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment. * Demonstrated success managing: * Safety * Quality * Delivery * Productivity * Cost * Labor performance * Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. * Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities. * Exceptional communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. * Experience with ERP, MES, production reporting, and electronic timekeeping systems. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related discipline. * Experience in braking systems, friction materials, automotive, aerospace, machining, molding, assembly, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. * Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO quality systems, or similar manufacturing standards. * Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. * Experience supporting automation, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies. * Demonstrated success leading organizational change and cultural transformation initiatives. Physical Requirements * Regular standing and walking throughout manufacturing areas. * Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. * Ability to work around moving equipment and machinery. * Exposure to manufacturing noise, airborne particles, temperature fluctuations, and industrial chemicals. * Required use of personal protective equipment.
