Job Overview This is a temporary 8‑week RN assignment at Ochsner Health. The role focuses on patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Key Responsibilities Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy, respectful introduction, and appropriate communication style. Effectively use the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team. Utilize data, information and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes. Promote customer satisfaction, employee morale, and continuous improvement in nursing practice. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Certifications Required: Current RN License in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in using computers, software and web‑based applications. Demonstrated good judgement. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands Heavy work: may require lifting 50–100 pounds occasionally or 25–50 pounds frequently. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications and hazardous waste is possible. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
