GetWyz Mortgage is an independent mortgage broker and a subsidiary of GetWyz, the Homeownership planning platform founded by Bob Curtis, who built MoneyGuide, financial planning software used by more than 100,000 financial advisors across the U.S. As a broker, we compare our lender network to match each buyer with the loan that best fits their financial situation.

The Mortgage Guide works with the Lead Mortgage Guide to walk buyers through the financing side of homebuying. By the time a buyer reaches you they already know they are ready. Your job is to help them understand their options and get them into their home.

We do not have salespeople here. We have Mortgage Guides. We run a combination of loan types, payments, rates, points, and down payment amounts, optimize them against what matters most to the buyer, and put real options in front of them. A Guide explains how each one impacts their financial situation, then allows the buyer to decide which loan fits best. It is the buyer’s decision, not ours.

What is different here:

Most loan officers spend the week chasing leads, guessing whether someone can qualify, and explaining how a mortgage works from scratch. Then they estimate the structure, points, or no points, how much down, and hope they landed somewhere good. That is not this job.

• Buyers come to you. No prospecting, no cold calls, no bought leads, no personal book of business to build.
• They arrive educated. Most have built a Homeownership Plan in the GetWyz app and already know their numbers. Some are ready to buy right now. Either way, you are not starting at square one on how a mortgage works.
• You know where they stand before the first call. Every buyer runs through WyzCalc, the homebuying methodology GetWyz is built on, so you have a real read on viability going in. You still verify everything. You are just not burning weeks on files that were never going to close.
• The structure is modeled, not guessed. We run the combinations and bring back real options. Your job is to explain what each one means for that buyer, help them decide which fits, and help them obtain the financing through one of our lenders.  Something most loan officers have never experienced.

This role will not feel like any origination job you have done.  Buyers set the pace. Some want to talk every week. Some want to check in twice and handle the rest by email. Either is fine. What does not change is that they hear from us before they have to ask every step of the way to closing.

Where we are right now:

We are evolving. The GetWyz platform is young, so not every buyer arrives with a Homeownership Plan built. Some come to us ready to buy now or already own a home, the same way they had come to any broker, and those files still need to get done well. You will originate both. What does not change is that you are not the one generating the lead.

You enjoy helping people but do not enjoy the financial stress that inconsistent paychecks create. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape how a technology-first mortgage company supports homebuyers, with room to grow as GetWyz Mortgage expands its team.

Where this is going:

GetWyz Mortgage is early. A small team in Midlothian today, more states and more lenders over the next few years. You are joining early enough that how this works is still being decided, and the people here now are the ones deciding it.

What a day looks like:

• Work directly with homebuyers, whether they arrive with a plan already built or come to us ready to buy, refinance, or take advantage of home equity by helping them understand their financial picture and which loan fits it.
• Lay out the loan options, explain the tradeoffs in plain language and real dollars, and let the buyer make the decision.
• Help each borrower understand a realistic, personalized path into the home, grounded in their actual financial picture rather than a generic pre-approval number.
• Originate loans end-to-end: communicate with buyers, lenders and Coordinators, collect and verify documentation, evaluate creditworthiness, run and interpret AUS.
• Explain timelines, documentation needs, approval steps, and next actions before the buyer has to ask for them.
• Use GetWyz technology and buyer data to deliver a consistent, consultative experience rather than relying on cold calling or self-sourced lead generation.

We are looking for:

• Active MLO license with NMLS in good standing, ready to originate immediately.
• Mortgage origination, processing, lending, banking, or homebuying experience, ideally with purchase transactions including VA and FHA loans.
• A buyer-first, consultative communication style with the ability to explain complex mortgage topics clearly.
• Someone who is comfortable presenting options and letting the buyer choose.
• Comfortable working in a technology-enabled environment and using buyer data, systems, and workflows to guide conversations.
• Strong follow-through, organization, and judgment, with an interest in helping build a new mortgage operation alongside the Lead Guide.
• Based in the Midlothian, VA area. You will start full-time in the office. Once you are up to speed in the role, the schedule shifts to hybrid, in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program.
