Job Details Responsibilities Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department for non‑profit clients, including monthly and end‑year processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc. Conduct thorough financial audits for non‑profit clients to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, accuracy in accounting, and efficiency in operations. Perform detailed financial analysis and research, including reviewing financial statements, evaluating financial performance, and identifying trends or issues that may impact the financial health of non‑profit organizations. Develop and implement effective financial strategies, controls, systems and procedures that align with the goals of the non‑profit clients. Prepare and present clear and concise financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Collaborate with non‑profit leadership to develop budgets, financial plans, and forecasts. Provide guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization strategies. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles. Liaise with tax accountants to ensure accurate and timely tax planning and compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or MBA is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in non‑profit accounting or a related field. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations. Proven experience with financial audits, accounting operations, budgeting, and financial reporting. Proficient in using accounting software and experience with a software system implementation a plus. Exceptional skills in data analysis, research, and financial forecasting. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client‑focused approach. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
