Registered Nurse - Outpatient - Cancer Center

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Registered Nurse – Outpatient Cancer Center . This will be full time. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm Pay Rate: $50.00-60.00 an hour paid weekly Benefits : available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment Job Responsibilities: Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care consistent with established clinical standards and practices within an outpatient cancer treatment center Assess patient health status through interviews, review of medical history, and ongoing evaluation. Identify patient and family educational needs and provide teaching materials and instruction. Provide psychosocial support and guidance to patients and families. Support daily clinical operations and patient care coordination. Manage medication refill requests from pharmacy phone lines and accurately document information in patient charts. Coordinate consultations, diagnostic testing, procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments. Triage patient phone calls and document all relevant clinical information. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team. Assist patients with accessing community resources and supportive services. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an outpatient setting caring for adults with chronic illnesses. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. INDKS Ensure compliance with requirements of third party payer Assume principle responsibility for total care of assigned patients in the assigned area Draw blood for lab work for consumers Initiate health care training and education to the patient/family as required while supporting and fostering the goals of the Hospital and the Department of Nursing Implement the patient's plan of care Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision Determine requests from health care providers for: Extention of outpatient benefits and Professional Association of Treatment Homes(PATH)placement Initiate admission assessment screening tool Demonstrate competence in performing basic drug calculations./li Conduct thorough safety search of the patient Provide medical screening to determine need for immediate medical services Adhere to policy and procedure regarding all aspects of medication safety Provide linkage to appropriate community resources, referral to appropriate care services, and communicate with providers in order to reduce health disparities and improve health care outcomes Evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices Manage and complete assigned work plan objectives and projects in a timely manner Participate in management staff meetings Identify the physical, psycho social and environmental needs as evidenced by documentation, clinical record, case conference, team report and evaluations Coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team Providing outpatient nursing services and treatments to a wide variety of consumers Perform patient rounds at least every 2 hours
