Associate Manager, New Verticals - Logistics Strategy & Operations

About the Team The New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re‑inventing how consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first‑party DashMarts and third‑party partnerships. DashMarts provide on‑demand delivery of household essentials, groceries and brand‑name favorites powered by DoorDash. Our team builds and operates a high‑quality, speedy and efficient logistics platform that supports both DashMarts and our third‑party merchants. About the Role The goal of the New Verticals Logistics team is to drive efficiency while improving the quality and speed of deliveries. As an Associate Manager, you will focus on crafting and executing strategies that win in strategic markets, planning to reach efficiency goals, and ensuring sustainable growth. Responsibilities Operate. Serve as the DRI for forecast accuracy, continuously improving demand and labor predictions. Experiment. Identify variance drivers, develop hypotheses, and test models and product changes in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Data Science, leveraging AI‑enabled forecasting tools. Scale. Translate analytical insights into operational experiments that create measurable and scalable improvements in forecast precision. Build. Launch and maintain forecasting enhancements—from writing complex SQL queries to drafting product requirements and supporting GTM efforts. Analyze. Assess the operational and financial impacts of forecast improvements, model trade‑offs, and iterate based on data. Lead and collaborate. Influence cross‑functional teams—including local operations, engineering, product, and data science—to align on roadmap priorities. Qualifications Analytical skills. Advanced SQL proficiency and deep understanding of AI tooling; experience building models from scratch. First‑principles problem solver. Comfortable tackling forecasting and operational problems innovatively and resisting conventional thinking. Versatile. Comfortable operating both at a high level and in the weeds with SQL and data analysis. Business acumen. Understand how forecast decisions impact cost, service levels, and network performance. 4–6+ years of professional experience in product operations, financial services, logistics, consulting, engineering, launch operations, or business operations. Bachelor’s degree required. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary range: $105,400 – $155,000 USD, plus potential equity grants.
