Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Travelers Rest, SC

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Shift Options: 2nd (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) and 3rd (11:00 PM–7:00 AM)

A day in this role

Your shift begins with a walk-through of the production floor. You review the preventive maintenance queue, lock out a machine under LOTO, and swap a worn conveyor chain before it becomes a downtime event. A line call comes in—an intermittent sensor fault on a packaging cell. You trace the control circuit, test the signal with your meter, adjust the proximity sensor, and the line is back up. Later, you inspect a hydraulic power unit, clean a valve screen, verify pump pressure, and update maintenance records. Throughout your day, you partner with production, keep safety first, and help drive reliability improvements across the plant.

Core responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance on manufacturing and facility assets to reduce unplanned downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production equipment
• Diagnose faults in control circuits, sensors, motors, and variable frequency drives
• Read and apply mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics to plan repairs
• Service hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, and related components
• Use prints, manuals, and diagnostic tools/meters to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Document all PMs, repairs, and parts usage with accuracy and clarity
• Assist in sourcing and staging parts and supplies for maintenance tasks
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE
• Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

What you bring

• 3–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or technical setting
• High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred
• Strong diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and interpreting technical documentation
• Proficiency using maintenance hand tools and electrical test equipment
• Effective problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and stay adaptable in a fast-moving production environment
