Head Bartender

H&H Cantina, a modern Mexican cantina and lounge in the East Village, is looking for a friendly, reliable, and experienced Head Bartender to join our team.

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Compensation: $17 per hour plus tips

The Head Bartender will work alongside a service bartender and a barback. We need someone with strong leadership skills who can guide this small team, organize the bar, delegate responsibilities, and keep service running smoothly during busy shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the service bartender and barback
• Assign tasks and ensure all opening, service, and closing duties are completed
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service
• Prepare cocktails accurately, consistently, and efficiently
• Maintain proper communication between the bar, servers, and management
• Monitor bar inventory and communicate ordering needs
• Ensure the bar remains clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Follow and enforce cocktail recipes, service standards, and NYC health regulations
• Help create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our guests

Qualifications:

• Previous bartending experience in a busy restaurant, lounge, or nightlife environment
• Experience leading or supervising a small bar team
• Strong cocktail knowledge and ability to follow detailed recipes
• Friendly, dependable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented
• Comfortable delegating responsibilities and providing direction
• Able to remain calm and professional during high-volume service
• Available every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
• Toast POS experience is preferred
