ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST

Environmental Protection Specialist
This position is available in the Division of Hydropower Licensing in the Office of Energy Projects. As an Environmental Protection Specialist some of your typical work assignments include:
Playing a key role in effectively interacting with federal and state agencies in western states that have a mandated license and exemption conditioning authority or a consultation role in FERC hydropower processes in an effort to increase the efficiency of these processes. Organizing, planning, and providing the direction and initiative required to ensure coverage of significant environmental impacts and the timely completion of NEPA documents.
Preparing input to correspondence, orders, and environmental documents on exceptionally difficult and highly complex environmental related matters.
Representing the Commission at meetings, conferences, and planning sessions with other federal agencies related to environmental concerns.
