About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Multilingual Programs to lead the oversight of instruction and compliance for English Language Learners (ELL). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and practices related to ELLs are in line with state and federal regulations, and for the academic acceleration of ELLs across the district. This role involves supervising the implementation of ESOL and bilingual instructional programs, as well as leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive staff development program. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering parental and community engagement in the educational access and attainment of ELLs, and managing the budget and compliance for multilingual programs. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in ESOL/ESL or bilingual education, with at least six years of professional experience in multilingual education, including five years in an administrative or supervisory capacity. A valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for ESL Program Specialist and Principal K-12 or Supervisor, Foreign Language certificate is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of second language acquisition, literacy development, and research-based instructional strategies for ELLs. They should be adept at collaborating with various stakeholders, analyzing data to inform instructional strategies, and have a proven track record of addressing the achievement gap for ELLs. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential for this role.
